


The Eastern Cape Development Corporation (ECDC) proudly presents the third annual Eastern Cape Film Expo, scheduled to take place from 2 - 4 July 2025 during the National Arts Festival in Makhanda (formerly known as Grahamstown). This event aims to strengthen the Eastern Cape's value proposition as a premier film and television destination.
The Film Expo offers a platform for industry experts to share sector insights and attract both local and international film production companies to locate their projects in our province. Additionally, the event provides a great platform for filmmakers and industry professionals to meet, exchange ideas and forge strategic partnerships.

Programme Overview
The three-day event is structured as follows:
Exclusive Industry Engagement and Networking Sessions with Industry Experts: Engage with leading professionals and gain insights into the film and television industry.
Masterclasses: Participate in masterclasses designed to provide attendees with insight and skills development opportunities in various aspects of filmmaking.
Screenings: Enjoy screenings of both local and international films, showcasing creativity and cultural diversity.
Community Outreach: Involve local communities in the film industry through outreach programs and initiatives.

- Funding Opportunities: Equip filmmakers with information on existing funding opportunities and models across the film value chain.
- Skills Development: Promote skills development in the film industry through interactive masterclasses.
- Networking Platform: Offer emerging and established filmmakers a platform to meet, exchange ideas and forge strategic partnerships with industry experts and relevant stakeholders.
