Igoduka is an exciting, live music show, that brings legendary musicians from the Buffalo City Metro Municipality (BCMM) together with emerging talent, creating a dynamic musical experience that honours the region’s artistic contributions.
The event celebrating BCMM’s musical heritage, and legends, showcasing their influence and contributions to Afropop. This include performances, storytelling, and engaging discussions about their artistic journeys. The show incorporates a mix of a musical styles and genres within the Afro-pop spectrum, from traditional to contemporary, reflecting the rich diversity of the region’s music.
In addition to the established artists, the showcase will feature rising stars from the local scene, offering them a platform to present their music to a broader audience. This mentorship aspect fosters community growth and creative exchange.
By collaborating with visual artists, the show is a multi-sensory experience where projections complement the performance and enrich the festival environment.
At this interactive experience, attendees are encouraged to purchase tickets for R80 to experience this event, and to participate in Radio 2000 Sundowner at the Makhanda and Village Green Stages.
This is an inclusive engagement, ensured through partnerships with local schools, music programmes, and community organisations. It also promotes the local economy by inluding different vendors involved in creative work.

ARTISTIC PROFILE OF THE BAND
This is a live music Jazz Band, specially formed to accompany the live music performances of Thembelani Ngxali, the Sessionists/ Instrumentalists from East London.
LEAD-VOCALIST
Thembelani Ngxali is a tenor, composer, vocalist, recording artist and live performer. He was born in Sutterheim, Farms and raised at Border Post in Zakhele Location. He grew up in a musical family and was part of the church choir. Thembelani moved to East London to further pursue music as a career.
