This show celebrates their courage, strategy, and spiritual strength as they resisted land dispossession, violence, and colonial control.

 

Through gripping performances, music, and physical storytelling, the production honours women as leaders, protectors, and the beating heart of resistance, offering audiences an emotional and inspiring journey into a hidden chapter of South African history.

About the Artists

Geralt Cloete is a South African theatre-maker, performer, and creative collaborator whose work engages questions of identity, embodiment, and social rupture. With a background in performance and devised theatre, Cloete’s approach is grounded in physical expression, text experimentation, and an interest in intimate, actor-driven storytelling.

 

Toroga Denver is a Khoikhoi First Nation artist and cultural activist whose work focuses on Indigenous memory, land, language, and cultural revival.
