The theme for the ensemble's production is We can, South Africa. For this to come to fruition, the youth of our country has to take centre stage and play an active role in realising this dream. 2026 brings with it vibrancy and energy like never before, 100% peformed by the youth that are our future!
The Eastern Cape Indigenous Music and Dance Ensemble brings you a combination of music and indigenous dances only found in the Eastern Cape. Little known traditional musical instruments will be reintroduced in this production.
AbaThembu, AmaBhaca, AmaKhoi, AbeSotho, AmaMpondo, AmaMpondomise, AmaHlubi, AmaXhosa, Indian and Afrikaners dances will be put together to show the richness and diversity of not only the Eastern Cape, but South Africa as a whole.
In addition to the already vibrant production, award-winning guest artists are also on the programme. Look forward to:
Dumza Maswana, a South African Soul, Jazz singer, songwriter, recording artist, and a storyteller. He is well known for his deep baritone voice and culturally rooted music.
Mthwakazi, an artist coming with Xhosa Bow Music and firmly entrenched on African dance rhythms.
Ntombethongo, a vibrant maskhandi artist with unique dance moves. His music often reflects themes from his dreams and experiences, resonating with audiences through his energetic performances and traditional attire.
This is a production not to be missed.
