WOMANDLA is a theatre production that uses a variety of dance genres and theatrical elements to celebrate influential South African women artists and address the issue of Gender-Based Violence (GBV). The performance celebrates the artistic legacies of figures like Brenda Fassie, Miriam Makeba, Zoë Modiga, Zimbini Makwetu, and Buhlebendalo Mda, while also serving as a powerful message against violence towards women. The show honours the contributions of iconic female artists, blending different dance styles to narrate their artistic journeys. Beyond celebration, the production delves into the serious issue of GBV, giving a voice to victims and calling for an end to violence against women. The performance showcases the positive, powerful, and empowering role of women in society.
