About the Artists
Through vulnerable songwriting and a voice rich with emotional depth, Majola explores themes of belonging, memory, faith, and self-discovery. Speaking about his debut EP, Isitifiketi, he explains: “I write music telling stories of how it was growing up, and the different things that shaped the way in which I think and imagine.”
His growing impact on South Africa’s music landscape led to his selection as an Apple Music Up Next artist, where he celebrated the platform’s commitment to championing African storytelling and voices that deserve to be heard around the world.
Majola’s work has earned praise and support from respected artists including Samthing Soweto, Sun-El Musician, Bongeziwe Mabandla, Jeremy Loops, and Låpsley. Critics have described his music as “a whisper floating above an acoustic guitar; waves lapping at the shore beneath it.”
