Kids Love Jazz
Kids Love Jazz

Kids Love Jazz is a youth-led cultural platform and festival dedicated to celebrating the relationship between young people and jazz music. Founded to challenge the perception that jazz belongs only to older generations, Kids Love Jazz creates vibrant spaces where emerging and established artists, audiences and communities can connect through music, conversation and creativity.

Through live performances, educational initiatives, workshops, jam sessions and cultural experiences, Kids Love Jazz showcases jazz as a living, evolving art form that continues to inspire new generations. The platform pays homage to South Africa's rich jazz heritage while creating opportunities for young musicians and audiences to engage with the genre in fresh and meaningful ways.

Since its inception, Kids Love Jazz has grown into a movement that brings together diverse communities across South Africa, using jazz as a tool for cultural preservation, artistic expression and social connection. The long-term vision is to become Africa's leading youth-focused jazz festival, fostering appreciation for jazz while building pathways for the next generation of artists, curators, and cultural leaders.

About the Artists

Amongst The People I Know is the experimental musical project of Tebogo J. Mosane, a drummer, composer, and producer from Johannesburg, South Africa. As the driving force behind the project, Mosane composes, produces, records, and performs the music himself, taking audiences on a journey through his unique blend of experimental soul.

Rooted in jazz sensibilities, the music draws on expressive phrasing, dynamic improvisation, and a strong sense of freedom. Airy minimalist arrangements meet textured, emotive layers, balancing subtle electronic elements with organic acoustic moments to create a deeply introspective and personal listening experience.
