The Love of it All

A dance production that brings together breaking, ballet and contemporary within the beautiful love story of two dancers, (based on real events). Showcasing not only their love of dance, the love of theatre, the love of a person but also loving the lives we have. It's all about the love of it all.

About the Artists

Melissa Schafer – Dancer and Choreographer

Melissa Schafer’s dance career began with her first ballet class at the age of 4. She trained in RAD ballet, obtaining distinctions in all her exams. Attending the National School of the Arts she also trained in contemporary , jazz, African and Spanish dance. While at NSA she was able to perform in festivals such as The National Arts Festival and Tshwane Youth Festival. In 2011 and 2012, she had the opportunity to dance with Mzansi Productions in Don Quixote and Joburg Ballet in Sleeping Beauty. In 2013 she completed her Graduate Year with Joburg Ballet after which she worked with Dance in Art in Haarlem, The Netherlands in 2014, training in contemporary dance. Following that, she then danced on board Costa Pacifica, working with Afro Arimba Productions and in 2018 had the privilege to perform in ‘Doll’ at the Dance Umbrella Festival. Now as the Artistic Director of Live to Move Dance Company, formed in 2019, she hopes to bring more opportunities for Dance in South Africa.

 

Leon Labuschagne – Dancer and Choreographer

Leon Labuschagne, better known as ‘Bboy Lab*A’ is no stranger to the entertainment industry. This multi-talented dancer, artist, teacher, MC, writer, videographer, editor, and social media mogul - has the underground urban dance community in awe of his every move. - Amy Rosslind

 

He is currently one of the Co-Owners of Dance Africa Network. They are the online digital content creatives of Dancesport SA social media accounts. Formerly, he was an ambassador for Shield Men as a Judge on their #DoDance competition that takes 3 dancers to New York City for the World Of Dance tour. In addition, he received a creative excellence award for his video entry into the Yogi Sip Do It Yourself Competition in 2009, with a 9-month internship at Y&R that jet set his interests in advertising & marketing.
