About the Artists

    • Early Life and Education:
      Born on October 9, 1966, Empress Deevyne is the first child of Isaac and Maria Tsotetsi. Her roots lie in the vibrant city of Pretoria. She began her educational journey at Marematlou Primary School and later graduated from Dr WF Nkomo Secondary School.

       

      Beauty Pageants and Recognition:
      Empress Deevyne’s early days were marked by participation in the Miss Qwaqwa Beauty Pageant, where she clinched the first place. She also made her mark in the Miss Black South Africa competition, which elevated her profile and introduced her to a wider audience.

       

      Music Career and Projects:
      Empress Deevyne’s passion for music led her to record Maxi Singles like “Treat Me So Nice” and “You Drive Me Crazy”. Her talent transcended borders, taking her to Limpopo in Musina, where she organised dancehall shows in collaboration with Zimbabwean nationals. Despite facing obstacles, she carved a niche for herself and became a favourable name in the music industry.


      Current Endeavours:
      In 2022, Empress Deevyne collaborated with Dub62six on an outrage program aimed at developing art practitioners within the mainstream. She is currently working on a new reggae album, eagerly anticipated for release later this year.
