MAONO
Dance & Physical Theatre

Analysing MAONO: A Cyclical Journey of Self-Reflection

 • Cyclical Plot Structure: The cyclical plot structure is a powerful choice. It mirrors life’s rhythms—birth, growth, decline, and rebirth. Each cycle offers new perspective and deeper understanding. In “MAONO,” this structure allows the protagonist to revisit pivotal moments, revealing layers of meaning and transformation.

 • Genre Blend: Drama, Thriller, and Suspense. The blend of drama, thriller, and suspense creates tension. Viewers will be drawn into the mystery of the protagonist’s self-discovery. The hospital setting adds urgency—the thin line between life and death heightens emotional stakes

• The Protagonist’s Journey: Bofelo, the woman in the hospital bed, represents vulnerability and resilience. Her conscious mind becomes a portal - a bridge between the mundane and the mystical. Her quest for a better life transcends physical healing - it’s about purpose, impact, and self-worth.

 • Unique Lens and Insights: Evelyn Vision Mindfulness and Self-Introspection: I emphasise the power of mindfulness - the ability to observe thoughts and emotions without judgment. Viewers are invited to reflect on their own lives. Gender and Impact: As a woman, Bofelo's introspection delves into gender roles, societal expectations, and the impact she can make. Her journey challenges stereotypes. The Veil Between Worlds: Evelyn’s vision hints at a veil separating different realities. This metaphor invites viewers to question their own perceptions.

Assumptions and Worldview: Viewers seek emotional resonance, thought-provoking narratives, and moments of catharsis.

Motivation: My purpose is to assist, inspire, and engage. I aim to evoke empathy and curiosity “agitation propaganda”. In summary, my unique lens combines analytical detachment with a desire to evoke emotional connection. “MAONO” invites viewers to question existence, impact, and the veils that separate our conscious and subconscious minds.
