Mamemamela ("Listen")
Theatre / B2 Arena

Mamemamela (“Listen”) is the dramatisation of personal stories of identity, memory and belonging through playback theatre*. For 50 years the National Arts Festival has been a vibrant expression, celebration, and exploration of our communal identity.

An identity is a way in which a person or a collective has been framed. What does identity mean to you? These performances invite audiences to share their stories in a celebration rooted in our diverse connection with the Festival and beyond.

*Playback theatre is improvisational theatre based on the real-life stories of audience members.
