EPSAC/ArtEC was established in 1918, to promote the visual arts in Port Elizabeth, and to support artists of all ages and stages, by providing various measures of support, such as exhibition access, professional development workshops, and being a networking hub.

We provide a ‘home’ and variety of educational, networking, mentoring and exhibition opportunities to local artists, most particularly those who are not yet established, and do not have access to commercial galleries. As well as keeping arts and culture alive in our community, we keep the Eastern Cape flag flying in the national visual art hub. Many established artists from the Eastern Cape showed their work for the first time in our gallery.

The Eastern Cape has a proud tradition and collection of excellent landscape interpretation. To support and enhance the value of regionalism in the National cultural arena, the theme of this year’s Annual is the local landscape. We look forward to an exciting and varied response from our local art community.

Our flagship event every year is our Annual exhibition.
