The Moses Molelekwa Arts Foundation, led by Bra Jerry Molelekwa, keeps producing amazing young musicians in their Tembisa jazz school, a number of whom have gone on to become leading professional musicians. This year they feature a trio of young ladies and following them is a big band of young ladies. Conducted by Ross Johnson, the St. Cyprian’s Jazz Band is a product of the school’s jazz programme which gives students the opportunity to explore all styles of jazz through ensemble playing and improvisation. The band will present a diverse mix of Big Band swing as well as a number of South African composers and arrangers such as Mike Campbell and Daryl Andrews.
