The Bergvliet High School’s Band reflects the Music Department's impressive growth and its success in events and competitions regionally and nationally. Included in this success is their participation in the Tutti World Youth Music Festival in China and winning the Waterfront Band Slam Competition for three years consecutively. The DHS Jazz Combo is directed by Natalie Rungan and includes ten young Durban musicians of diverse musical backgrounds. The ensemble’s repertoire is a blend of traditional South African melodies with modern jazz influences.
