Outeniqua High School's Jazz Band, conducted by Lynette Peterson, gives students a chance to engage with jazz while encouraging diverse musical styles to better hone their musical skills. The group is well known along the Garden Route and has performed self-composed music at festivals like MosJazz, KKNK, Artscape Youth Jazz, amongst others. The band celebrated the selection of two of its students to the 2023 National Schools Jazz Band – a first for a Garden Route school.
