The Off Minor: UCT Sextet is an unusual ensemble of rhythm section and two vocalists. The Mthembu-Salter Powell Project and the Giuliette Price Quintet are the core foundation of the band, and mostly share members. The members of the sextet, bar UCT alumnus Nicholas Ford, are currently studying at UCT under the tutelage of Amanda Tiffin and Andrew Lilley, with educational contributions from other prominent jazz musicians. Their performance will include modern arrangements of American Jazz standards, alongside personal South African favourites and several original compositions.
