Known for his dynamic performances and fiery energy on stage, Kesivan Naidoo has had a professional jazz career of nearly three decades in which he has forged a network that extends across the globe and covers an eclectic range of musical influences. He hails from East London, Eastern Cape, where he fell in love with jazz at the age of 10 and started performing professionally at 14. His music is rooted in the art of improvisation, in expression and of radical invention – and most importantly, in listening. This year he brings a version of The Lights filled with powerful individuals all ready to listen to each other and explore each other’s music; each of them attended the NYJF as a teenager and has now become a leader in the industry!
