About the Artists
Vuyo Irvin Mdingi
Vuyo was born in Attridgeville, Pretoria in 1991, but raised in Soweto. The first art performance he was introduced to was 'traditional dance' in primary school which awakened his interest in other genres as well. In 2004 he started performing in government related events via School Programmes arranged by his high school teacher. His talent for tap dancing escalated into a career.
His first theatrical performance was in Polokwane where he was part of the legendary "AmaTaps", a show that's predominantly tap dancing.

Sipho Reuben Dhlamini
Sipho Reuben Dhlamini started his journey in a group called Thabisong Youth Club in 2004 and through that gained experience in the performing arts. He travelled all over the world as a teacher, mentor and composer. He is a founder of Tapcussionist Triad.
Sifiso Maseko
Sifiso Maseko was born and raised in the dusty roads of Soweto. He was introduced to art performance at an early age by Dingaane Lilokwane, and since then has turned his talent into a profession.
In 2000 he performed with international artist, Gladys Knight, at Sun City, he was part of the World Summit and has worked with entertainment companies like Ipelegeng Art Center where he learned all about the Djembe drum and performing arts. He represented SA at the China Expo where he met different groups from around the world. From there he has managed to travel to other countries including Brazil and Germany.
In 2002, Sifiso worked with Somizi Mhlongo and Will Smith for the Mandela Show and in 2009 he played with Khaya Mahlangu at the Jazz Festival at the National Art Festival. In 2011, Sifiso’s mentor, Tlale Makhene, were part of Zahara’s live DVD recording. He is a member of Storm Rhythms Ensemble that won the best group in the Womba Womba Khala Sgubhu in 2012. He travelled to Russia as a solo percussionist from 2013 to 2014.
Currently Sifiso is part of a band called Tapcussionist Triad, and is also one of the founders. Sifiso Maseko received professional training and successfully completed the unit standards as a facilitator in arts and culture modules and programs at Sibikwa Arts Centre in 2020 accredited by CATHSSETA. He is working with various community arts organisations as a facilitator/ creative/ artistic director. Sifiso is eager to learn more and grow in the arts, as the journey is limitless.
Nosipho Mtotoba
Nosipho Mtotoba is a singer and dancer born in Soweto. Mtotoba grew up with a passion for singing, and sang at church, public gatherings and ceremonies, and finally joined DINGANGA THEATRE CREATIONS (2008), where she became lead singer and song writer. Mtotoba has represented South Africa at a conference in
Malaysia, performaed at the National Arts Festival, and worked with South African celebrities, including Zahara, PJ Powers, Benjamin Dube, James Okon, Omega Khunou and the late Neyi Zimu to name a few. In 2017 she joined an all female Marimba Band called Abafazi Bengoma and they have travelled to the Netherlands and other countries. She is also part of a group called Africa Soul owned by Bervely Beyers, former owner of the Soweto Gospel Choir. She often travels to the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium with African Mammas, owned by Stefan Bruin, a promoter from Domelgraf Theatre. In 2024 she travelled to Canada for the Winnipeg Fringe Festival. In December that same year, she travelled to Tanzania with a South African trio called Tapcussionist Triad.
Mojalefa Mosia
Mojalefa Mosia was born in QwaQea in the Free State. He is a songwriter, guitarist and singer. After singing at church, he moved to Gauteng and joined Clap n Tap Choir under the leadership of Thapelo Sokana. Mosia had an opportunity to perform at WITS Great Hall, where he met Molefe Nong who introduced him to The Revelation Production which got him to the Soweto Theatre. In 2023 Mojalefa returned to the Soweto Theatre and met Mr Simphiwe Sikhakhane a composer, director, songwriter and singer. Mr Sikhakhane introduced him to fellow artists, creatives, theatre practitioners and producers. In 2024, Mosia was part of STEP AFRIKA PRODUCTION, celebrating 30 years of existence and a collaboration between America and South Africa in Soweto Theatre. In the same year, he performed with Tapcussionist Triad at BLACK LABONE at the South African State Theatre. Late last year he performed at Sedibeng Arts Showcases by Luthando Arts Academy in Wilberforce Community Hall Evaton. He has worked with different directors, choreographers, and music composers including Sibusiso Shozi, Teresa Phuti Mojela, and Simphiwe Sanele Sikhakhane to name a few. He remains humble and willing to learn.
Khethokuhle Mathe
Khethokuhle Mathe is a multidisciplinary artist, educator, and movement facilitator dedicated to using dance as a tool for healing, identity, and community restoration. She holds a BA Honours in Performing and Visual Arts from the University of the Witwatersrand, where she trained in Movement Studies, Applied Drama, and Performance Practice. Her work combines Contemporary, Afro Fusion and Hip Hop with intuitive storytelling rooted in faith and social consciousness. Khethokuhle has taught in schools, studios, and community spaces, empowering young artists through creative arts education. Her choreography has been featured at the National Arts Festival and Youth Expressions Festival, reflecting her commitment to accessible, transformative art-making.
Attwell Bushushu Ngubane
Attwell Bushushu Ngubane was born and raised in Soweto. He started tap dancing in 1996 at Usindiso Primary School, taught by the legendary Mr Nathaniel Madrax Blangwe. Sadly, Mr Blangwe passed away in 1998.
In 2005 Attwell and brothers formed the first black Tap show, Ama- taps, which was performed at the Market Theatre and was later a Naledi winner for the best ensemble production in 2005. In 2014 Attwell was an assistant choreographer for Soweto, responsible for taking a show to France and Spain during the cultural season. upbringing to the French community in Paris and Spain for the festive season a Cirque de Africa 2.
Llehlogonolo Sejanamane
Llehlogonolo Sejanamane was born in Soweto and introduced to the arts by Thabiso Manare in 2017. He trained in ballet at Dela Dance, and since then has travelled the world, exploring his unique style of dance with different companies and as a solo artist. He was part of Itrotra arts x connections MPC and later worked with Joburg Ballet.
