The play encourages the audience to think on the ramifications and impacts of the rainbow salad on their lives. How we can all take lessons from the legacies left by our parents for each one of us respectively; How we can all share in these experiences (rainbow salad) and find commonalities in our epiphanies/moments of realisation.
The moment of epiphany came years after I lost my mother. I was in the trenches of deep depression, and self-doubt consumed me. That is when I ceased questioning God as to why He took my mother away from me and started the process of introspection and found healing. The consequence of that introspection made me yearn for fulfilment in paying homage to her life and times. This introduced me to a multi-dimensional spirituality that connected me to my mother.
This also enabled me to open my horizons and see the unlimited possibilities that her legacy and life in general has to offer. It enhanced my reasoning capabilities in ways I never thought possible, and highlighted how to conquer the world systematically in my unique ways. Prayer became a more dominant channel to healing my own wounds and filling the vacuum inside me.
