Echoes of Silence
Actor Spaces Club

Echoes of Silence" is a tragic and emotionally charged South African drama set in Soweto, focusing on a deeply dysfunctional family grappling with mental illness, social isolation, and marginalisation. At the center is Bhutana, a 16-year-old disabled boy battling severe depression. The story unpacks the silent struggles of those society often overlooks—individuals with disabilities, those from the LGBTQI+ community, and the mentally ill. Bhutana’s family—his religious mother, emotionally distant father, transgender brother, and intellectual sister—each face their own torment as they try to reconcile their shattered lives.
