SAULSPOORT DAM THE MUSICAL
DIKABO TSENTLE
Cabaret & Musical Theatre / City Hall
SAULSPOORT DAM THE MUSICAL is a stunning and stirring production focusing on the hopes, dreams, and aspirations of the passengers, each of whom boarded with their own stories and personal ambitions.

In the early hours of 1 May 2003, the rainbow bus, on her voyage from Kimberley to QwaQwa, took a wrong turn, plunged and slowly sank into the cold and dark waters of Bethlehem River in the Free State. It was one of the most tragic disasters of the 21st century in the country, and 51 men and women lost their lives in a watery death.

Based on real people, all innocently unaware of the fate awaiting them.

Epic and majestic with moments of heartbreaking intimacy, SAULSPORT DAM captures the lives and tragedy of the hopeful passengers on the bus to the May Day rally celebrations.
