


Love Me, Feed Me, Never Leave Me is a hilarious and heartfelt look at modern love and dating. From awkward first dates to emotional breakdowns, new dads to not-so-faithful partners, this fast-paced series of scenes dives into the messy, magical world of relationships. It’s a light-hearted play with heavy-hearted conversations — funny, relatable, and painfully honest. Throughout the play we meet an array of different characters through short vignettes: A young couple meeting for the very first time, a woman on the brink of a nervous breakdown, first time dads trying to get a handle on fatherhood, a man faced with the opportunity to cheat and so many more. This is a light-hearted play about heavy-hearted conversations. Love Me, Feed Me, Never Leave Me is sad, funny, and universal. Everyone in this day and age can relate.

About the Artists
Producer: Origen Productions was founded in 2021 by Emma Amber with the goal of creating fresh, original theatre for South African audiences. Since then, they’ve staged multiple acclaimed productions, including The Marvelous Wonderettes — nominated for two Fleur du Cap awards — which has toured across the country. Other standout productions which have performed at multiple fesitals across South Africa as well as venues such as the Baxter theatre, Drama Facory and Theatre on the square in Johannesburg include the heartfelt romcom Love Me, Feed Me, Never Leave Me, the powerful courtroom drama Trial and Error, and the festive musical The Jingle Belles. Origen is committed to championing new work and showcasing exceptional talent from across South Africa.
Writer, director and actress: Emma Amber is the creator as well as actresss in Love Me, Feed Me, Never Leave Me. Emma was nominated for a Fleur du Cap Theatre Award for Best New Director for 'The Marvelous Wonderettes', in which she also performed as 'Cindy Lou'. Her other writing and directing credits include the courtroom drama, 'Trial and Error', which premiered at the Baxter Theatre in 2024, and 'The Jingle Belles', a quirky Christmas musical that debuted in December 2024 and returns to Theatre on the Square in Johannesburg in 2025.
Actress: Anja Taljaard is a Cape Town-based actress and performer, with a BA in Acting for Film from CityVarsity. Her recent stage work includes 'Love Me, Feed Me, Never Leave Me', performed at Theatre Arts and the Redhill Arts Festival, as well as four years of live performance at Stardust Theatrical Dining. Anja has an extensive film and television background, with credits including leads in Deuntjie, Juffrou X, Niggies, Glasshouse, Redeeming Love, and White Lies.
Actor: Ethan Saunders is a versatile actor trained at The Byron Bure Academy of Arts. He has has a strong background as a film actor, having worked on international franchises such as Tubi's 'Killer body count' and Malcolm Venvill's 'Churchhill at war'. His recent theatre credits include 'Lord Farquaad' in 'Shrek the musical' 'Detective Oppenheimer' in Michaela Richards' 'Who done did it' and 'Simon' in 'Trial and Error' by Emma Amber.
Actor: Siphe Sibiya trained in live performance at AFDAas well as at the University of Cape Town. He is an actor and voice over artist based in Cape Town. His theatre credits include 'Charles' in Michaela Richards' 'Who done did it', narrator in ‘Umgeni River: More than Water’ , ‘John Proctor in ‘The Crucible’ and ‘The Outsiders’.
