Tutti Frutti
Fruity Lix Productions (Pty) Ltd
Cabaret & Musical Theatre / Thomas Pringle

Pichi Keane is at it again! Only this time, the fruity singing queen is coming for the kids (kind of). Tutti Frutti is a colourful cabaret for mature teens (16+) and late bloomers navigating the challenges of relationships, coming out, too little lube & safe(r) sex. Straight(ish) talk from an award-winning queer queen and self-proclaimed pleasure activist. Featuring hit songs from Chappell Roan, Sabrina Carpenter, Billie Eilish, Charlie XCX, and more!

Award-winning singing queen Pichi Keane offers a perfect blend of performance genres: live music, hilarious comedy, the aesthetic of drag, the pathos of cabaret. With Tutti Frutti, her first solo production aimed at audiences below 18 years of age, Pichi adds a dash of edutainment to the mix - the sexy kind. Tutti Frutti goes beyond what you'll learn in Biology with a focus on pleasure, keeping consent front and centre, and helps our next generation of lovers to imagine a world where we can all be equally satisfied, regardless of sex or gender.

About the Artists

Pichi Keane is an award-winning singing queen, glamour clown and self-proclaimed pleasure activist on a mission to make more people laugh and lube up.

Pichi Keane first started performing in drag in 2019 while living in Hong Kong, where she quickly became a familiar face at premier queer events as performer and MC, despite the dampener of the pandemic on the social scene. A trained vocalist with experience in musical theatre, jazz, pop and rock, she established her band ‘Pichi Keane & the Swing Machine’ in 2021, featuring some of Hong Kong's hottest swingers, and has debuted the project in South Africa in 2025.

Now based in South Africa, Pichi has enjoyed numerous sold-out shows with her debut drag cabaret ‘Ripe ’n Ready’ (Standard Bank Silver Ovation Award, 2023), as well as the follow up production 'Freshly Squeezed' (Standard Bank Ovation Award, 2024) which also had its international debut in Manila and Hong Kong. She performed as a soloist on the main stage at the 2024 Cape Town Pride Festival Mardi Gras, and released her debut single titled ‘Came Here To Dance’ earlier in the same year. Pichi has been awarded the Cape Town Pride Heroes 'Performer of the Year' Award (2024).

Pichi is travelling with two new drag cabarets: ‘Tutti Frutti' and ‘Soetsappig’.

Kirsten Harris’ passion for storytelling and the way in which stories are told and archived, coupled with her curiosity for play and interest in disobedience, and resistance to the status quo forms a critical part of her theatre making practice. She is particularly interested in social justice and representational practices that reveal the interconnectedness of our collective humanity.

She is an award-winning theatre maker, director, producer and arts educator from Cape Town who is based in Johannesburg. With a Bachelor of Arts Degree majoring in Drama and Political & International Studies at Rhodes University in Makhanda and a Postgraduate qualification in Education from the University of the Witwatersrand, Kirsten centres learning as a constant and consistent part of her journey as a white South African in contemporary post-apartheid South Africa.

In 2015 Kirsten launched Hijinks Theatre: a collaborative arts incubator aimed at fostering the development and creation of new and original South African Theatre. Since its inception, the company has successfully produced and incubated several award-winning shows, collaborating with diverse and creative practitioners. Notable works include Born Naked, Fire House, Flying Solo, Taking Flight and Whistle Stop.

Hijinks is founded on the principles of collaboration, reflection, disobedience and playfulness to renew and to refresh critical contemporary narratives amongst artists for greater social impact− a process which has yielded the significant placement of Born Naked as the first queer text to be positioned in a South African drama curriculum, as an IEB Matric setwork.

Meg van Wyk is the founder and director of Fruity Lix Productions (Pty) Ltd and the creatrix of the characters Pichi Keane and Mistress Mae. They have written and produced award-winning cabarets such as Ripe 'n Ready (Standard Bank Silver Ovation Award, 2023) and Freshly Squeezed (Standard Bank Ovation Award, 2024).
