The Confession
Khalazome Performing Arts
Theatre / Princess Alice

"The Confession" is a poignant and powerful story about Thembisa, a young girl who navigates the complexities of her family's past and her own emotions. The story begins with Thembisa writing and singing a sad song, setting the tone for a journey of self-discovery and revelation.

As Thembisa's story unfolds, we see flashbacks of her parents, Mkhonto and Mazondi, and their tumultuous relationship. We also meet Mamthethwa and Masithole, two mothers who gossip about the Ndlovu family's struggles. The story takes a dramatic turn when Mazondi passes away, and Thembisa is left to grapple with her emotions and the truth about her family's past.

In a spiritual realm, Thembisa confides in her ancestors about her father's abusive behavior towards her mother. In a surprising twist, Thembisa's ancestors take her to confront her father, Mkhonto. The story concludes with Thembisa awakening to a new reality, determined to make her parents proud and embark on a new journey.
