‘Digital Shaman’ is an afro-contemporary dance film about a technologically enhanced bionic shaman who is looking to recalibrate his sensitivity to his healing powers. With Artificial Intelligence further weaving its influence on the course of human living, Willside Dance Company artistically explores the medical relevance of shamanism in the increasingly standardised and technologically precise methods of modern medicine.

About the Artists
Thato Nkwe
Along with being the Artistic Director of a Pretoria-based contemporary dance company called Willside Dance Company, Thato is a collaborative artist with over a decade of professional experience in the theatre dance industry. Throughout his experience as a creative producer, he has independently produced various professional contemporary dance productions in which he fulfilled roles as the writer, director, choreographer, composer, and performer.
