For all students of piano, those who want to learn to play the piano, and those who simply love music, this concert is for you.
Join Theresa Dwyer (BMus performance UCT) as she takes you on a journey through a wide variety of piano music. You will hear some well-known as well as lesser-known works by composers such as Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, Tchaikovsky, Rollin, Linn and many more. These pieces are all carefully chosen to be easily accesible to the early intermediate-advanced students of piano.
We hope that you will be inspired to go and learn some of these pieces yourself, or aspire to play them in the future if you are still a beginner.

About the Artists
THERESA DWYER is a pianist and music teacher who grew up in Makhanda in the Eastern Cape. Theresa was inspired to study music by her piano teacher Dr Catherine Foxcroft and completed her BMus in piano performance at The University of Cape Town under the tutelage of Associate Professors Francois du Toit (piano), Hendrik Hofmeyr (music theory and analysis) and Albie van Schalkwyk (chamber music). Theresa discovered her love of teaching and inspiring young (and old) musicians while still completing her degree, and subsequently opened a private piano studio in Cape Town which she ran for 8 years. At the start of 2022, Theresa moved back to her hometown, Makhanda, where she started a private studio teaching local students in person as well as continuing online with the students in Cape Town. In between her teaching commitements, Theresa still performs piano where ever possible and is especially interested in inspiring students of piano through her performances
