This production is in the style of magical realism, focusing on the story of a mother and daughter, set during the dying days of the Anglo-Boer war. In this classic of South African theatre, the realistic setting of a mother's love for her daughter is transcended, becoming the story of women's continued pursuit of survival in a patriarchal society.
