WHERE BOOKS, MUSIC AND CULTURE COLLIDE!

The National Arts Festival is thrilled to unveil a reimagined edition of the Eastern Cape Literature Festival, a bold convergence of books, music, and culture that places literature firmly in the spotlight. This year, the Literature Festival expands its reach across the 1820 Settlers Monument, the bustling Village Green, and the iconic Amazwi Museum of South African Literature, bringing storytelling into the very heart of the Festival.

The official opening sets the tone for an unforgettable journey. South African author, Unathi Nkayi will moderate an intimate and profound dialogue with two titans of South African storytelling: Dr John Kani and Dr Jerry Mofokeng wa Makhetha. Their collective wisdom, artistry, and lived experience will set the tone for a festival rooted in legacy, transformation, and creative excellence.

To elevate the atmosphere, acclaimed saxophonist Natz will deliver a soul-stirring live performance, infusing the evening with rhythm, emotion, and elegance.

This is not just an opening — it’s a moment of celebration, reflection, and inspiration. Don’t miss the official opening of what promises to be a signature event on South Africa’s literary calendar.
