Eastern Cape Showcase | Creative Lines, Forms and Lenses
Visual Art

"Creativity is contagious, pass it on." – Albert Einstein

This powerful quotation by Albert Einstein serves as the heartbeat of the "Creative Lines, Forms and Lenses" exhibition, presented at the Eastern Cape Visual Arts platform during the National Arts Festival.

It speaks directly to the spirit of this exhibition: a vibrant, intergenerational exchange of ideas, skills, visions, and expressions that celebrate the unstoppable force of creativity spreading across the province.

Here, seasoned visual artists from the Eastern Cape exhibit their mastery through bold lines and forms — from painting, to sculpture, to mixed media — each piece reflecting the rich cultural heritage and contemporary pulse of the province.

In dialogue with these works, the fresh lenses of young women photographers, trained by the Department of Sports, Recreation, Arts and Culture, Market Photo Workshop and Eastern Cape Development Corporation (ECDC) offer a new way of seeing the world. Their photographs — infused with Augmented Reality (AR) features — break the traditional frame, allowing viewers to dive deeper into stories that are alive, evolving, and deeply personal.
"Creative Lines, Forms and Lenses" invites visitors to witness creativity as a living, breathing entity — a force passed from generation to generation, community to community.

Through brushstroke, sculpture, and digital lens, Eastern Cape artists remind us that creativity is not only an individual spark but a collective flame — growing brighter as it is.
