The Eastern Cape’s rich heritage of artistry and craftsmanship takes center stage at the Eastern Cape Craft and Design Showcase, proudly hosted at the National Arts Festival in Makhanda from 26 June to 06 July 2025.

Supported by the Department of Sport, Recreation, Arts and Culture (DSRAC), the Eastern Cape Development Corporation (ECDC), the Eastern Cape Provincial Arts and Culture Council, the OR Tambo District Municipality, the Nelson Mandela Bay Metropolitan Municipality, and the Amathole District Municipality, this exhibition brings together the province’s finest craftspeople and designers in a celebration of creativity, culture, and innovation.

Visitors will experience an extraordinary range of works — from intricate beadwork and pottery to modern design pieces — all deeply rooted in the province’s diverse cultures and traditions. This showcase is a vibrant reflection of the Eastern Cape’s spirit, highlighting both traditional techniques and contemporary interpretations.
