Lwaphela is a deeply personal Afro-soul performance exploring the emotional and generational aftermath of apartheid within Black South African communities. Through storytelling, folk influence, jazz textures, and contemporary African soundscapes, KhiweG reflects on inherited grief, the loss of joy, and the silent battles faced by Black families and men navigating addiction, survival, and identity in a post-apartheid society.
Rooted in memory, vulnerability, and healing, Lwaphela becomes a lament honouring the emotional realities are often left unspoken within the Black experience.
