The Baby is Crying is a three hand political play set in 1982 during the apartheid era. It questions and explores some of the events that occured in exile, while also celebrating the lives of comrades who lost their lives during the struggle. It centres around the story of three MK cadres who lost their lives during a shoot-out between SAPS and MK in Manzini.
This well researched play premiered at the Durban Playhouse in 2022 and was mentored by Mbongeni Ngema and Jerry Poer.
