The Preacher
The Preacher Production In Partnership With Emalahleni Civic Theatre
Theatre / Masonic Front

When it is time to release his protégé who’s been with him for years the Preacher finds ways to keep him by his side, but that works against him as X (protégé) discovers a huge secret which changes his perspective of the Preacher… A heated confrontation erupts as the congregation watches on, and X threatens to expose the Preacher’s shenanigans if he doesn’t release him.

The production focuses on the complex relationship between a preacher and his protégé, exploring the dynamics of power and control, deception, manipulation, loyalty and betrayal.

The motivation for creating this work was to challenge audiences to consider the complexities of human relationships and the consequences of our actions. We wanted to explore the gray areas between right and wrong and encourage empathy and self-reflection.

This production is ideal for adults and young adults interested in thought provoking theatre that explores complex themes and relationships.
