First time at The Black Power Station Listen To The Kids is a powerful, youth-focused concept curated and performed by acclaimed Black improvised music outfit, Kujenga. This special show brings together Kujenga and guest collaborators to spotlight compositions by emerging South African musicians—artists who are shaping the sound of tomorrow.
Challenging ageism in the jazz and improvised music space, Listen To The Kids asserts that innovation in this genre has always been driven by the youth. This performance celebrates that truth—amplifying fresh voices, bold compositions, and the unstoppable energy of a new generation.
Expect a genre-defying journey that’s soulful, experimental, and unapologetically future-facing.
